We are not talking about late May or early June… what about planting in August?
Below are pictures from Sept 26, 2026. On the left are beans planted Aug. 18th, on the right beans drilled July 14th following the harvest of winter canola. The beans on the right have intentions of harvest for a double crop. Most years those beans average 30-40 bu/ac depending on weather. The beans on the left were broadcast with a fertilizer spreader and incorporated with a cultivator. Showing some beautiful growth for a fall cover crop. The volunteer winter wheat may need to be controlled with RoundUp, while the beans should winter kill.
